About Fred Fest

Fred Fest is a free annual community celebration honoring the life and legacy of Lt. Fred Mashtare, a lifelong firefighter who served the Islands for nearly four decades.

Fred poured his heart into restoring a historic Grand Isle property and was known for his love of rock & roll — especially AC/DC. This day is about family, music, community, and supporting the people he loved most.

All proceeds and donations go directly to Fred’s wife and three daughters.

Support Fred’s Family

Donations to Fred’s family are still being accepted. If you’re able, any gift helps stabilize housing and support for Tanya and the girls.
